This is a poem that I wrote on the way home from a golf tournament. The inspiration for it came from the radio. As I turned on the radio in the car a country song was playing. The song did not appeal to how I was feeling at that moment. So I reached down to change the station and for some strange reason I said these words out loud (Which is weird, as I do not often talk to myself when I am alone)... "I am not in the mood!" That was all that it took for my mind to shift gears and for creativity to take over. The poem wrote itself in less than 3 minutes.
Tender Nothings
My wife just had a heart attack
She's passed out on the bed
It may be that she's never heard
The words that I just said
She's heard me say a lot of things
Some bordering on the lewd
But she has never heard me say
"NO THANKS... Not in the mood!"
