This was written for a co-worker whose father passed away last week.

Heaven Waits

Heaven waits for those who stand

For all that’s right and good

Heaven waits for those who’ve done

The things in life they should

Heaven waits for father’s dear

Who answered every call

Heaven waits for selfless men

Who gave the world their all

Heaven’s gates are opened wide

For righteous men on earth

The roads are paved with golden glow

For those who’ve proved their worth

Loving arms await the few

Who heed the Masters call

And walked upright for all their days

And stood so very tall

Heaven waits for you and I

And one day we will see

That death is not the end of life

We go on eternally

And one day when our time has come

To face the end of time

We’ll find ourselves with those we love

With a feeling so sublime
