One of my personal favorites. It is chalk full of wit, wisdom, satire, imagery, and simple old fashion plain truths. The title "9 Months to Life" is intregal to the body of the poem...

We would be lost without the double and triple meanings.

It works on so many levels for me.

9 Months to Life

I just received the verdict

The sentence handed down

I’m not sure if I’m innocent

Or guilty have been found

But there is no mistaking what

My wife just said to me

My name will soon be daddy

As she’s got some pregnancy.
