Sour Cream

I have often said... "If you must cry over spilt milk... at least make sure that it has not soured first!"

Speaking of spilt milk, I once witnessed a very elegant, demur, and seemingly calm lady grab her daughter by the hair and lift her out of her chair after she had accidentally spilled milk at the dinner table.

I have always wondered how much that cost this mother in her relationship with her daughter... and if it would be worth doing again, even if milk cost as much as a bar of gold.

Sour Cream

When milk has spilled into your lap, and you feel the need to cry
Before you grab a rag or mop, breathe deep… give this a try
Lean down a bit and take a whiff, to make sure that your not
Wasting your tears far better spent, on curds which have begun to rot

Before you cry over milk that’s spilt, or a tragedy in life so small
Step back and check the smell of things, before the tear drops fall
For oft the things in life we feel, are worthy of a cry
Turn into things of equal use, when churned and left to dry

Sometimes the milk in life that’s spilt, is already going bad
And if we stop and think it through, it’s not worth it getting mad
This rule of life that milk can teach, should be used, both far and wide
And when we’re faced with bigger things, calm feelings with you will abide
